Mobilink will Invest $250 Million in 2010

Mobilink has said that it has allocated $250 million for investing in year 2010 for enhancement of existing infrastructure and further improvement in quality of service.
With this, Mobilink’s total investment in Pakistan will cross $3.5 billion mark, which is largest by any cellular company operating in the country.
This announcement came at a time when Orascom is reportedly in talks with MTN of South Africa to sell its stakes in 5 countries.
Let’s expect Mobilink putting this money in Mobile Banking, along with we may see Mobilink Infinity getting out of Karachi.
Mobilink President and CEO Rashid Khan in a statement said,
Operating in one of the most competitive markets in the region requires constant improvements and value additions be it in terms of offers and services or capital investment to enhance quality of service.
Mobilink has maintained an aggressive posture in the wake of an overall stressful environment which has enabled us to increase subscribers and revenue while providing unmatched connectivity to our subscribers. We are also grateful to Orascom Telecom for their continued support and commitment to Pakistan.
