wi-tribe Drives for Green Initiatives

wi-tribe in collaboration with Capital Development Authority (CDA), recently organized “walk-a-cause”, an event where employees embarked on a walk to encourage support for the environment.
wi-tribers set out together from wi-tribe’s head office in F-8 Markaz to Faisal Mosque, in Islamabad. 110 Saplings were planted by various members of wi-tribe’s Islamabad team.

wi-tribe has appointed new Vice Presidents for Sales & Marketing and director for customer care, as per highly placed sources with-in the company.
Mr. Wahib Aslam is announced as new Vice-President for Sales and Marketing, while Mr. Umair Ahmed is said to be heading Customer Care as Director of the department.

Motorola Will Expand wi-tribe’s Network

Motorola today announced the completion of the first phase of deployment of its end-to-end WiMAX network for wi-tribe, a wireless broadband Internet provider in Pakistan.
Motorola said that the agreement for phase two includes further expansion of the existing footprint.
During the first phase of the WiMAX network deployment, Motorola supplied infrastructure and a comprehensive services package that offers cost-effective, compelling wireless broadband services to wi-tribe customers in Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad and Rawalpindi.
The recent signing for the second phase of deployment will enhance the customer coverage footprint in the existing cities and further expand the WiMAX network to newer cities.
“We are constantly upgrading our offerings to provide our customers with the latest advances in high-speed communication services,” said Mustafa Peracha, CEO, wi-tribe Pakistan Limited. “By teaming with Motorola, we are delivering affordable wireless Internet and allowing for an expanded network of seamless connectivity across Pakistan.”
During the second phase of the deployment, Motorola will introduce its next-generation WiMAX access point, the WAP 650, a four transmit antenna and four receive antenna product providing enhanced coverage and capacity.

wi-tribes’ Tower Collapses

wi-tribes’s tower collapsed in A-Block of Faisal Town near Jinnah Hospital following a windstorm, leaving an electricity transformer and wires damaged and the wall of a house collapsed. However, no casualty was reported, as told by “Dawn” newspaper.
Quoting Faisal Town police,paper writes that the tower of Wi-tribe installed at a plaza near the house of a retired police officer could not withstand the storm and collapsed.
According to the police, a team of the City District Government’s environment department had submitted an application to take an action against the plaza owner and the wi-tribe.

Sami Hinedi moves in as Acting CEO of Wi-Tribe Pakistan while ex-CEO Mohammad Sadiq is going to return to Qtel while being on the BoD of Wi-Tribe, said an official statement.

Mohammad Sadiq, CEO of wi-tribe Pakistan, is set to return to his post at Qtel after successfully completing his term in launching the operations in Pakistan. The announcement came as Group CEO, Sami Hinedi, revealed that he will be replacing him as Acting CEO.
Mohammad Sadiq will still remain on the Board of wi-tribe Pakistan and will continue to provide overall strategic direction for the company to reinforce its growth within the market. “It is sad to bid farewell to one of the greatest leaders in the tribe, but we rest assured that his expertise and guidance will continue as he remains on the board of directors,” said Hinedi.
